VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Apr 06 (MARKET WIRE) --
Apoquindo Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE: AQM) ("Apoquindo" or "the Company")
through its wholly owned Peruvian subsidiary, Minera KoriTambo SAC
("KoriTambo"), announces continuing positive drill results from the
Zafranal project located in the northwestern extension of the Southern
Peru Copper Porphyry Belt near the city of Arequipa.

Drilling through March has focused on a 2km long segment of the 3.5+km
east-west trending intensely mineralized Main Zone, one of six porphyry
copper-gold targets within the Zafranal project. The company continues an
aggressive drill program at Zafranal with the plan to drill 40,000 metres
that will include grid drilling the Main Zone, testing of the east and
west extensions of the Main Zone, deep drilling on the Main Zone, and
testing several of the satellite targets during 2010.

Today, the company reports the drill results from 6 RC holes and 6
diamond drill holes.

(i)Copper grade cut back to 5%

Hole ZFDDH10-17 was drilled northwards from the same pad as previously
reported ZFDDH10-14 (105m @ 1.16% Cu) showing that the Zafranal Main Zone
remains open towards the north at its western side.

Holes ZFDDH10-19 and ZFDDH10-22 were drilled on the same section, 80 and
180 metres south of previously reported ZFDDH10-12 (144m @ 0.68% Cu), and
show that high-grade copper mineralization also remains open towards the
south.

    Hole ZFDDH10-020 was a 100 metre step-out west of hole ZFDDH10-12. This
hole shows that the high-grade chalcocite blanket at the Zafranal Main
Zone remains open along strike to the west and occurs at shallower depths
below surface in that direction. Further drilling is planned in the near
future aimed at continuing to expand the zone westwards.

Hole ZFDDH10-18 was drilled 100 metres north of previously reported
ZFDDH10-15 (63m @ 0.57% Cu) and shows that the high-grade copper
mineralization extends further north than previously thought. This hole
also intercepted excellent copper mineralization at greater depths than
previously encountered.

Holes ZFRC10-57, ZFRC10-58 and ZFRC10-59 were drilled on the far eastern
extension of the Zafranal Main Zone, where a strong geophysical anomaly
was identified by an AMT (Audio Magneto Tellurics) survey conducted by
the Company. Results indicate the presence of thin zones of secondary
copper mineralization in the area.

Hole ZFRC10-60 was a twin hole of the Company's previously reported
diamond drillhole ZFDDH09-5 (92.5m @ 0.62% Cu). Copper grades are
slightly higher in the diamond drill hole, suggesting that the Reverse
Circulation drilling method may be under-reporting copper grades. All
drilling by the Company within the central part of the Zafranal Main Zone
is currently done with the diamond method.

The drilling to date has confirmed chalcocite mineralization for a 2,800
meter strike length at Zafranal and a zone of up to 600 meters wide and
between 30 and 150 meters in thickness of chalcocite and
chalcocite-chalcopyrite mixed zones.

Bruce Turner President states, "We are very pleased with our drilling
results to date with a large percentage of the drill holes intersecting
what we consider to be high grade copper mineralization. We continue to
aggressively drill Zafranal and look forward to updating shareholders as
the results are received."

KoriTambo can acquire an initial 51% interest in the Zafranal copper-gold
porphyry project from Teck Cominco Peru S.A. ("Teck"), subject to Teck's
right to earn-back to a 60% interest. The agreement also provides options
for KoriTambo to increase its interest to 60% and to 100% if Teck does
not exercise its earn-back right.

The Company has established a rigorous QA/QC program at Zafranal which
includes the insertion of blanks, duplicates and certified standards into
the sample stream. Core is photographed on site and subsequently sawed in
half, with one half sent for analysis and the other half stored for
future reference and assay verification. RC chips are split twice on site
using a riffle splitter, with 25% of the sample being sent to the
laboratory for assay and the rest stored for future verification
purposes. All Zafranal samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's sample
preparation facility in the city of Arequipa, where they are crushed and
pulverized. Prepared samples are shipped to ALS Chemex's certified
laboratory in Lima where they are analysed for gold, copper and
multi-element ICP.

Dr. Tom Henricksen, consultant geologist of the Company and Chief
Geologist for Minera KoriTambo, the Company's Qualified Person for the
purposes of NI 43-101, has approved the information contained in this
news release.
