Jobs and integrity in leaders is what citizens want most
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
Despite the worst economy of their lifetimes, Floridians overwhelmingly believe
their state is a good place to live, according to new findings by the Leadership
Florida/Nielsen Company 2010 Sunshine State Survey. For the first time in the
survey`s history, a majority (60 %) of Floridians now say that new people moving
to Florida is more positive than negative. To view the complete survey results
with crosstabs, please visit www.leadershipflorida.org/sss2010.

"The Sunshine State Survey establishes longitudinal trends on the issues that
matter most to Floridians," said Jon Levinson, chairman of Leadership Florida.
"By partnering with The Nielsen Company, we are able to produce vital data that
will be very useful to those leading Florida through these tough times."

Floridians remain focused on the economy at more than twice the intensity of
2006 and 2007. With unemployment at a modern high, 85% of Floridians disapprove
of the state`s effectiveness in creating jobs, and 69 % favor incentives to
businesses to encourage them to expand or relocate in Florida.

"We are thrilled to work with Leadership Florida on this significant
informational tool," said Bob McCann, executive vice president at The Nielsen
Company. "This survey is an important statewide resource providing long-term
benefits to policy makers, academics, news media and all Floridians."

The Leadership Florida 2010 Sunshine State survey was conducted by The Nielsen
Company between Feb. 5 and Feb. 17 in English and Spanish among a random sample
of 1,282 Florida telephone households. The margin for error is approximately
plus or minus 3.6 %.
