GuideStar Invites Environmental and Wildlife Nonprofits to Enter GuideStar Green Giveaway

WASHINGTON, DC and WILLIAMSBURG, VA, Apr 06 (MARKET
WIRE) --
In honor of Earth Day, GuideStar, the leading source of nonprofit
information, invites environmental and wildlife nonprofits to enter the
GuideStar Green Giveaway for a chance to win $500.

A nonprofit must meet all of the following criteria to qualify for the
Giveaway:

1. Be classified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
2. Have a National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) code listed under C,
Environmental Quality Protection, Beautification; D30, Wildlife
Preservation/Protection; or D50, Marine Wildlife.
3. Have at least 10 user reviews on GuideStar, www.guidestar.org, or
GreatNonprofits, www.greatnonprofits.org.
4. Have entered the Giveaway no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on April 30, 2010.

Ten organizations will be selected at random from the qualified
entries the week of May 3. Winners will be featured on the GuideStar Web
site and announced in the May 6, 2010, issue of the GuideStar Newsletter.

"The goals of the GuideStar Green Giveaway are to bring nonprofit reviews
to the attention of a wider audience and to support environmental and
wildlife organizations," stated Bob Ottenhoff, GuideStar's president and

of the nonprofit's services, donors -- they help answer the most
important question you can ask about a nonprofit: 'How well is the

about things that could be improved. Although the GuideStar Green
Giveaway is limited to environmental and wildlife organizations, future
giveaways will feature nonprofits working in other areas, so that over
time, all organizations will have a chance to enter a GuideStar giveaway."
