Royce Hires George Wyper

NEW YORK--(Business Wire)-- Royce & Associates, LLC (Royce), investment advisor to The Royce Funds, is pleased to announce important recent additions to its investment and other staff. Effective April 1, 2010, George Wyper, formerly of Wyper Capital Management, joined the firm as Portfolio Manager and Managing Director. President and CEO Charles M. We think that his global investment expertise will be a highly valuable asset to the firm." Before founding Wyper Capital in 1998, Mr. Wyper was a Senior Managing Director at Warburg Pincus Counsellors, Inc. and a member of E.M. Warburg Pincus & Co., LLC. While at Warburg, he managed the Capital Appreciation Fund and Small Cap Value Fund, as well as private accounts for institutions and families. He also served on the firm`s Operating Committee. Mr. Wyper has more than 30 years of investment industry experience. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his MBA from the Yale School of Management. Joining Mr. Wyper on Royce`s investment staff are analysts Dilip Badlani and Meena Mallipeddi. Todd Neufeld, who served as Wyper Capital Management`s Chief Operating Officer, is also coming to Royce. Mr. Neufeld joined Wyper Capital in 2004. Previously, he was Director of Operations at GoldenTree Asset Management, a leading high-yield/distressed debt shop. In addition, Client Service Specialist Lisa Hecht, and Elizabeth Winslow and Kimberly DeLeon are joining Royce. The addition of these experienced professionals increases Royce`s investment staff to 38.
