Wi-Fi and Virtual Branch Networking Solutions Added to Approved Products List of
the Office of Information Assurance and Certification
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN), a global leader in distributed enterprise
network solutions, today announced that its adaptive 802.11n wireless LAN access
point is the first ever to receive accreditation from the U.S. Army`s Office of
Information Assurance and Certification (OIA&C) and inclusion on the Army`s
Information Assurance Approved Products List. U.S. Army users at last have
access to secure 802.11n wireless LANs - operating at greater than 100 Mbps and
with industry-leading capacity - for video, voice, and data applications.

Accreditation required that Aruba`s products meet the following criteria:

* Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 Level 2 validation
* Common Criteria Level EAL2 evaluation, EAL4 evaluation in-process
* Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) compliance
* U.S. Army Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC) Technology
Integration Center (TIC) evaluation and recommendation

In addition to 802.11n, the Army also tested and approved Aruba`s Virtual Branch
Networking (VBN) and secure mesh solutions. VBN provides remotely deployed
sites, traveling commanders, and teleworkers with secure connection to data,
voice, and video applications. The solution uses a family of low-cost, centrally
managed Remote Access Points (RAPs) to connect to the data center via a range of
different WAN links.

Aruba`s resilient, self-healing secure mesh enables radio signals to hop
reliably from access point to access point without any data cabling. Secure mesh
allows Wi-Fi access points to be located and relocated anywhere, quickly and
reliably in even the harshest environments, without installing a wired backbone
or making site modifications.

Only Aruba provides a single wireless architecture that encompasses campus
access, remote access, and mesh networking. Key features include best-in-class
security with client-to-core cryptography, integrated wireless intrusion
detection compliant with DoD 8100.2, and an integrated policy enforcement
firewall. By design, no sensitive cryptographic user key data are accessible on
any access points, protecting the integrity of the network should an access
point be stolen or probed.

"This approval is significant because it enables all branches of the Army to
launch their transition from legacy wired networks to highly secure mobility
solutions, with a wide range of connectivity models, using one common
architecture," said Harry McLarnon, Aruba`s Federal Operations Director. "Prior
to this approval the Army was unable to support users over high-speed Wi-Fi, or
to offer a common connectivity experience to remote users. Despite the demand
from users, there was no accredited solution available. Now there is and we
believe the transition to wireless will begin in earnest."

Army accredited Aruba products include:

* Aruba 6000 and 3600 Mobility Controllers
* AP-125 802.11n Access Point
* AP-65 and AP-70 Indoor Access Points
* AP-85 Outdoor Access Points
* Policy Enforcement Firewall Software Module
* Wireless Intrusion Protection Software Module
* Indoor and Outdoor Mesh Software Module
* Remote Access Point Software Module
* ArubaOS 3.3.2.11-FIPS Operating System

"Since its founding Aruba has been the leader in wireless network security, and
the Army`s accreditation is indicative of our commitment to remain ahead of the
industry," continued McLarnon. "Our compliance with Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2,
Department of Defense Directive 8100.2, and OIA&C security policies enables us
to address both civilian applications, like FDIC audit teams, and military uses
including logistics, healthcare, special operations, and field deployments from
foxholes to fortresses. The Army has a wide range of such applications, and we
look forward to working closely with them on these projects."
