Maoists kill 20 policemen in central India attack

RAIPUR, India, April 6 (Reuters) - At least 20 policemen were killed by Maoist insurgents after an ambush in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, the second such attack this week, police said.

"We lost 20 brave men in the attack and have launched a counter attack against the Maoists," Vishwa Ranjan, Chhattisgarh's police chief, said on Tuesday. (Reporting by Sujeet Kumar; Editing by Bappa Majumdar and Alex Richardson)
