Seoul shares seen higher; eyes on foreign trading

Tue Apr 6, 2010 7:43pm EDT

SEOUL, April 7 (Reuters) - Seoul shares are set to open
higher on Wednesday after rises on Wall Street, with blue-chip
stocks in technology and auto sectors seen likely to gain, and
the market keeping an eye on foreign investors, the single
largest buyers in the market.
"Upward velocity has weakened but shares will still open in
the positive territory. Upward momentum will continue in the
longer-term, and I think the main index could hit as high as
1,750 points, while we have strong support at 1,700 points,"
said Won Sang-pil, a market analyst at Tong Yang Securities.
Energy price-sensitive issues such as Korean Air Line
(003490.KS) could react to a spike in crude oil prices CLc1
to an 18-month high.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index .KS11 (KOSPI)
finished up 0.06 percent at 1,726.09 points on Tuesday.
