Thai govt agrees CAT takeover of Hutchison's CDMA

BANGKOK, April 7 (Reuters) - The Thai cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan by state-owned CAT Telecom to buy the CDMA business of Hong Kong-based Hutchison Telecom 2332.HK for 7.5 billion baht ($232 million).

CAT Telecom will own 100 percent of the CDMA (code division multiple access) mobile business after the purchase, a government spokesman told reporters. ($1=32.35 Baht) (Reporting by Kitiphong Thaicharoen; Writing by Khettiya Jittapong; Editing by Alan Rayboulod)
