Indonesia protests at WTO over U.S. clove cigarette ban

GENEVA, April 12 (Reuters) - Indonesia has launched a formal dispute at the World Trade Organization against the United States over the U.S. ban on clove-flavoured cigarettes, an official at Indonesia's mission said on Monday.

Under WTO rules, the two countries now have 60 days to resolve their differences through consultations, otherwise Indonesia can ask the WTO to create a panel of experts to rule on the case. (Reporting by Jonathan Lynn; Editing by Laura MacInnis)
