Justin Bieber reclaims No. 1 on U.S. album chart

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - Canadian teen idol Justin Bieber returned to the No. 1 spot on the U.S. pop album chart Wednesday, while rock guitarist Slash scored the highest debut after his debut solo album came in at No. 3.

Bieber's "My World 2.0" sold 102,000 copies during the week ended April 11, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It has sold 676,000 copies after three weeks. The album debuted at No. 1, but fell to No. 2 last week to make way for Usher's "Raymond v Raymond." The Usher album slipped to No. 2 with 92,000 copies, taking its two-week tally to 422,000.

Slash's self-titled album followed with 60,000. It's the former Guns N' Roses' and Velvet Revolver member's first solo effort, although he has a lot of help from some very famous friends on the set. Each of its tracks sports guest vocals from a familiar artist, including guest turns from Fergie, M Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Kid Rock, Ozzy Osbourne, Kid Rock, Dave Grohl and Adam Levine.

Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now" rose one to No. 4 with 57,000, and the "Now 33" compilation fell two to No. 5 with 53,000. Their respective totals rose to 1.7 million and 311,000.

The only other new entry in the top 10 belonged to Madonna at No. 10 with "Sticky & Sweet Tour" (28,000). It's her 19th top-10 set and her third live release. With 19 top-10 albums, the star ties with Bob Dylan for sixth place among acts with the most top 10s in the chart's 54-year history. Ahead of them are the Rolling Stones (with 36), Frank Sinatra (33), the Beatles and Barbra Streisand (30) and Elvis Presley (27).

Elsewhere, Monica's "Still Standing" stood still at No. 6 with 38,000 copies, Lady Gaga's "The Fame" jumped two to No. 7 (32,000), Bieber's first "My World" album held at No. 8, and Erykah Badu's "New Amerykah, Part Two" dropped five to No. 9. The latter two sold just under 30,000 copies each, separated by 30 units.

Jakob Dylan's second solo album "Women + Country" debuted at No. 12 with 25,600 copies, a big chart leap and slight sales improvement over his 2008 debut "Seeing Things" (No. 24, 24,000).

Overall album sales totaled 5.27 million units, down 23% compared to the previous week, and down 33% compared to the comparable sales week of 2009. Year-to-date album sales stand at 87.23 million, down 10% compared to the same total at this point last year (96.86 million).
