British Airways cancels Sunday's long-haul flights
LONDON |
LONDON (Reuters) - British Airways said on Saturday it had extended the cancellation of flights to and from Britain on Sunday to all long-haul flights.
The airline earlier canceled all flights to and from European destinations on Sunday as well as domestic services.
A spokeswoman for the airline said the new announcement meant no British Airways planes would be flying anywhere on Sunday unless adverse weather circumstances changed.
Aviation authorities have closed British airspace until at least 1 a.m. EDT (0600 GMT) on Sunday because of the danger posed by clouds of volcanic ash from Iceland.
