D-backs to Host APS Green Series During Weekend`s Homestand Against Phillies
PHOENIX--(Business Wire)--
The Arizona Diamondbacks, in partnership with Arizona Public Service Co. and FOX
Sports Arizona, are going green and will be promoting energy efficiency during
the weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies that begins Friday at Chase
Field. All weekend, APS will provide information on new energy efficiency
programs that are available to their customers. These programs are funded by APS
customers and approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission.

New green programs include:

* A $99 Home Performance with Energy Star Checkup that will diagnose the energy
inefficiencies in your home and inform you about valuable APS rebates for
improvements.
* Information on APS rebates for new, efficient pool pumps that could save you
money each year in energy costs.
* How to get $30 in cash for recycling your old refrigerator or freezer (must be
in working condition). APS will pick it up for free and send it to a recycling
center.

During the APS Green Series, the D-backs will be purchasing Green Energy from
APS for the entire three-game series at Chase Field. The total average
consumption for the series will be approximately 780,000 kWh. Also, taking
advantage of APS' pool pump rebate, the RideNow Powersports Pool in right-center
field will soon install new high-efficiency variable speed pool pumps, which
will provide up to an 80 percent energy savings on pumping energy costs and also
creates less heat and a quieter operation.

During FOX Sports Arizona`s telecasts on April 24 & 25, viewers will be provided
with tips from APS on what they can do to become more energy efficient. On April
24, Tom Hines of APS is a guest on FOX Sports Arizona`s pre-game show at 4:30
p.m. to give fans tips on what they can do at home to reduce their energy costs
and usage.

"APS has been a visionary leader in regards to energy efficiency and we are
proud to once again partner with them for our Green Series," said D-backs`
President & CEO Derrick Hall. "We enjoy educating our fans and front office on
the many programs and options available to live our lives more efficiently, and
believe our games against the reigning National League champs provide the
perfect stage and setting."

"We appreciate the opportunity the D-backs have provided us in informing
everyone at the Green Series of the new APS energy efficiency programs," said
Terry Orlick, APS Director of Marketing. "Our goal is to provide APS customers
options and education on how they can reduce their energy needs without
affecting their lifestyle. By providing these tools, we hope that homeowners
will take advantage of the expertise and the rebates and incentives available to
them."

"One of the goals we have for our telecasts is to educate and inform our
viewers," said FOX Sports Arizona General Manager & Senior Vice President Mike
Connelly. "There is no better example of that than with this weekend`s Green
Series. APS and the D-backs are tremendous partners of ours and we look forward
to working with them on this important event."

Each game, a lucky section of D-backs fans will receive energy efficient CFL
bulbs and the first 5,000 children 12 and under will receive hats made from
recycled bottle caps at Sunday`s 1:10 p.m. game. Throughout the series, the
D-backs will be promoting energy efficiency and green lifestyle tips. APS
experts will be at each game to answer questions about energy use and to help
educate fans about things they can do to be more green while saving money and
energy. The APS Clown Troupe and The Renewables, an APS team of clean energy
super heroes, representing solar, wind, geothermal, hydro and bio-mass energy,
will also be present in the St. Joseph`s Sandlot for children and families.

Tickets for the APS Green Series are available at the Chase Field ticket office,
