Gorenje to pay no dividend for 2009

LJUBLJANA, April 22 | Thu Apr 22, 2010 10:34am EDT

LJUBLJANA, April 22 (Reuters) - Slovenia's largest household appliances maker Gorenje (GORE.LJ) said on Thursday it plans no dividend for 2009 for the second year in a row, after ending 2009 in a loss for the first time since being listed in 1998.

Gorenje, which is Slovenia's second largest exporter and sells some 90 percent of its production abroad, was badly hit by the global crisis due to lower global demand.

In March it reported a group net loss of 12.2 million euros versus a profit of 10.2 million in 2008. [ID:nLDE62A1NK] (Reporting by Marja Novak; Editing by David Holmes)
