ATHENS, April 22 (Reuters) - Greece wants to continue to meet its borrowing needs by tapping financial markets and discussions about debt restructuring are just "coffee shop talk", the government's spokesman said on Thursday.

"What we have been saying from the start is clear: We had and continue to have the intention of borrowing from the open market," George Petalotis said in a transcript of an interview to a Greek radio station.

Commenting on talk of the possibility of debt restructuring, he said: "All this is easy talk, and allow me to say, coffee shop talk." (Reporting by George Georgiopoulos)
