City Merchants High Yield Trust plc

Headline: Sixth Interim Dividend for the year ended 31 December 2009

and First Interim Dividend for the year ending 31 December 2010

In order to comply with s842 of the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1988, the
Directors of City Merchants High Yield Trust plc have declared a sixth interim
dividend for the year ended 31 December 2009 of 1p per share.

The Directors have also declared a first interim dividend for the year ending
31 December 2010 of 2p per ordinary share.

The total dividends of 3p per share will be payable on 28 May 2010 to Ordinary
Shareholders on the Register on 30 April 2010. The shares will be quoted
ex-dividend on 28 April 2010
