OAKVILLE, ONTARIO, Apr 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
Pethealth Inc. ("Pethealth" or the "Company") (TSX:
PTZ), the second largest provider of pet insurance in North America, the
leading provider of companion animal RFID microchip technology, and the
leading provider of management software for animal welfare organisations,
is pleased to announce that Toronto Humane Society ("THS") one
of the largest animal welfare organisations in Canada, has made the
decision to move to the Company's 3 main shelter targeted programs.
Under the terms of the agreement, Toronto Humane Society will begin
running PetPoint's SaaS operating software system in June 2010, using
Pethealth's 24PetWatch microchip program and offering Pethealth's
private-labelled pet insurance program under the Ontario SPCA name to all
adopters.
"We are very excited to be playing such a key role in the
revitalisation of Toronto Humane Society. A world-class city like Toronto
deserves a world-class animal shelter, and we are very happy that the
Toronto Humane Society has, as part of its re-launch under new
leadership, made such a progressive decision," said Christa
Chadwick, Director, North American Shelter Outreach of Pethealth Inc.
"The move to PetPoint will allow the Toronto Humane Society to
interact and collaborate with other PetPoint users, who include the most
respected and advanced animal shelters in North America.
Most of North America's largest animal welfare organisations, including
the Atlanta Humane Society, the San Francisco SPCA, Texas SPCA in Dallas,
Animal Humane Society of Minneapolis, Houston SPCA, Michigan Humane
Society, Wisconsin Humane Society, Tampa SPCA, and The Anti-Cruelty
Society in Chicago use PetPoint.
"As a long-time PetPoint user whose organisation has benefited
greatly from its use we welcome Garth and his team from the Toronto
Humane Society into the PetPoint family and offer our assistance to his
organisation as they embark on their new initiatives," said James
Bias, President & CEO, SPCA of Texas.
"Toronto Humane Society is proud to be partnering with Pethealth
Inc. and we look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship which will
assist us in our pursuit to be Canada's leading adoption, animal care and
advocacy agency," said Garth Jerome, Executive Director of Toronto
Humane Society.
Toronto Humane Society had previously used Chameleon software and M4S
microchips as part of its operations.
In addition to now using PetPoint, the Toronto Humane Society's adoptable
animals will also be found at www.petango.com. Launched in May of 2009,
Petango is one of the leading pet adoption and pet authority websites in
North America; visited by millions of people looking to adopt a pet. It
is the only adoptable pet site with live animal data feeds as it is the
only site connected directly to the software application run by shelters.
About Toronto Humane Society
The Toronto Humane Society is a not-for-profit organisation solely funded
through charitable donations. Its mission is to promote the humane care
and protection of all animals and to prevent cruelty and suffering.
About PetPoint
PetPoint was first introduced in 2005 and has now been licensed by over
1,370 animal welfare organisations in North America. As a hosted
application, animal welfare organisations can not only better organise
and care for their inventory of adoptable dogs and cats, but can also
reduce significantly, if not eliminate, their IT related infrastructure
costs. PetPoint is provided free to animal welfare organisations on the
basis that these same organisations use the Company's 24PetWatch
microchip program for all companion animals adopted. The 24PetWatch
microchip program is the most widely used microchip and lost pet recovery
service operating in both Canada and the United States.

for dogs and cats to pet owners, operating in Canada, the United States
