NEW YORK, NY, Apr 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
Encounter Technologies, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: ENTI) announced today the
company will complete the development of its Video Sales Technology (VSP)
technology for industry launch by fourth quarter 2010. This technology
will offer more robust video sales and management services than its
competitors bizclips.com and pixelfish.com
VSP is a turn key solution for online Yellow Pages publishers to sell
video advertising to their existing text only advertisers. Richard
DiBiase, President of Encounter proclaimed, "Today's yellow page
publishers are dying for a turn key solution to offer video advertising
to their yellow book customers. Our technology not only delivers on that
need but also fully integrates and manages the entire video process for
these publishers. VSP will be recognized as a complete management tool
for publishers from start to finish in the delivery of video advertising
on the world wide web."
About the Yellow Pages Video Industry
Digital video advertising was born almost a decade ago after several
seminal events, but many agree it was the sale of Mark Cuban's and Todd
Wagner's Broadcast.com to Yahoo in 1998 for the sum of $5.7 billion that
put digital video on the map. During the early 2000s, as the Internet
valuation bubble burst and the interactive industry regrouped, digital
video progressed slowly.
As the interactive industry rebuilt, leaders such as Microsoft's Windows
Media Player, Yahoo's Launch, and MSNBC's video content inched the
industry forward by selling "test" programs to blue-chip advertisers who
wanted to learn about the medium and gain insight. CPMs tended to run on
the high-end of the TV-CPM range and inventory was limited.
The online video advertising market seems to show no decline despite the
economic crisis. The last report from LiveRail shows that average CPMs
keeps growing bravely, and internet video consumption has been
experiencing a massive growth of 40% and more. Since this trend has kept
growing almost unstoppably since 2005, there's no sign it will ease. The
vast majority of consumers who consult print and Internet Yellow Pages
sites for local business information are "ready to buy" after their
search, according to new data released today from the "Local Media
Tracking Study" conducted by Burke and released by the Yellow Pages
Association. And consumers are increasingly using online video ads to
make purchasing decisions.
*80% of web users have seen an online video ad.
*52% took action
after viewing the ad.
*31% visited the advertisers web site.
*22%
searched for info about the product
*15% visited the store to check out
the product.
*12% made the purchase.
