THE COLONY, Texas, April 22, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Pizza Inn, Inc.
(Nasdaq:PZZI), an international pizza chain recognized for serving a variety of
fresh, high quality products at affordable prices, announces the opening of its
newest buffet-style restaurant at 5040 West Hardy Street in Hattiesburg,
Mississippi. This location offers buffet, full menu, delivery and carryout with
a convenient pick up window.
With 18 restaurants now open and operating throughout Mississippi, Pizza Inn
continues to target the state as part of a growth plan that has revitalized the
chain.
"As we continue to grow our brand in various markets across the country, we are
thrilled to bring our freshly made pizzas, pastas and other popular menu items
to Hattiesburg," said Charlie Morrison, CEO of Pizza Inn. "We are confident that
the folks here are just as excited as we are about Pizza Inn returning to the
city."
For more than 50 years, Pizza Inn has provided consumers with a variety of
specialty and traditional handcrafted pizzas, pastas, salads and desserts in a
dine-in buffet format with delivery and carryout. The company popularized a
unique thin crackery crust that is made from scratch everyday and has since
become the signature product offering. Over the years the menu has expanded, but
the company's commitment to the highest quality ingredients, the friendliest
service and affordable pricing have remained unchanged.
The Hattiesburg restaurant is owned and operated by veteran franchisee and
Greenwood resident Bob Singh, who owns five other Pizza Inn locations in
Collins, Greenwood, Grenada, and Monticello Mississippi and Franklinton,
Louisiana. Boasting more than 30 years of experience in the franchise industry
with some of America's most recognized and reputable brands -- including Sonic
Drive-In, Palm Beach Tan and Western Sizzlin' -- Singh also serves as Pizza
Inn's area developer for all of Mississippi and Franklinton, Louisiana.
Singh's son, Scott, a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, will
operate the new restaurant, which is adding over 50 part and full-time jobs to
the local economy.
"There are numerous pizza concepts in the marketplace, but there is one
significant difference. Pizza Inn stands above the rest when it comes to
freshness and quality," Singh said. "I couldn't be more excited about bringing
Pizza Inn's products to Hattiesburg."
In an effort to further increase national and regional growth, Pizza Inn is
seeking single- and multi-unit franchisees to help grow the company's network of
restaurants in the region.
