NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
During this 40th Anniversary of Earth Day, Terra Wellingtonshares a few tips for
how you can make a difference.

1. Reduce Plastic Waste

Plastic waste is a huge problem in the country. To combat this problem, you may
have heard of bringing a reusable bag to the grocery store. You can also bring a
reusable water bottle. For example, Glacier Water has water machines inside or
outside many grocery stores and these are like mini-bottled water plants that
sell you filtered water, without adding plastic waste.

2. Look for Innovative Ways to Recycle

Aside from recycling cans and bottles, there are other unique opportunities to
recycle household items like those in your medicine cabinet. 40% of homes have
expired antibiotic tubes, so Neosporin has come up with an innovative way to
recycle these empty or expired tubes. They`ve teamed up with Terracyle, and what
you can do is go online, get a starter kit, and mail the tubes in for free. The
company will recycle them and Neosporin will donate money to a charity or school
in your community.

3. Get Involved in a Make-A-Difference Campaign

Look for green campaigns to get involved in. For example, SILK soymilk has a
Green Caps for a Greener World initiative. Look for the green caps on their
products, then enter the UPC code online, and choose your green cause. Silk will
then make a donation to either Bonneville Environmental Foundation to develop
wind energy or FarmAid to support family farms.

4. Go Green When You Clean

By using baking soda, you can cut your cleaning costs by at least 75 percent.
Also, the newest appliances can help you make better eco choices and save you
money. For example, Whirlpool brand has a new, top-loading Cabrio
high-efficiency washer that uses 76 percent less water and 76 percent less
energy than conventional washers - saving more than $1300 over its lifetime*.

* When compared to pre-2004 conventional washers, based on average use, 10-year
washer life
