MONTERREY, Mexico, April 22 (Reuters) - Papermaker Kimberly-Clark de Mexico reported on Thursday a 13 percent gain in quarterly net profit, helped by rising sales and lower financing costs.

Kimberly-Clark de Mexico (KIMBERA.MX), which is controlled by Kimberly-Clark Corp (KMB.N), said it earned 984 million pesos in the first quarter ($79 million) as sales grew 5 percent to 6.357 billion pesos.

The company said sales volumes grew in all segments.

It reported a 45 percent decline in its financing costs to 202 million pesos, due in part to the recent appreciation of the peso against the dollar.

Its U.S. parent reported earnings that fell short of Wall Street's consensus view on Thursday. [ID:nN22208449]
