Australia's Woodside Q1 output down, Pluto on track

PERTH, April 23 (Reuters) - Woodside Petroleum Ltd (WPL.AX), Australia's No. 2 largest oil and gas producer, on Friday posted a 7 percent fall in its first-quarter output and said its flagship Pluto gas export project was on track for completion this year end.

Woodside said output in the quarter ended March fell to 19.2 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), largely due to scheduled maintenance at the Stybarrow oil field off western Australia and the sale of the Otway gas assets off Victoria state.

Perth-based Woodside earlier forecast its 2010 production to be in the range of 70-75 million boe, down from 80.9 million boe last year. (Reporting by Fayen Wong; editing by Balazs KOra)
