Merkel says need long-term solution for Greece

BERLIN, April 28 (Reuters) - Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday a long-term solution, not a quick fix, was needed for Greece.

"We are on a good path now," Merkel added at a news conference. She said the international community could not allow a Lehman-like collapse for Greece.

When asked about a report that Germany's economy minister had valued the aid for Greece at 135 billion euros over 3 years, Merkel said she would only be able to talk about the value when a fiscal plan the IMF and EU were negotiating with Greece was agreed.

She was speaking after a meeting with the chiefs of the International Monetary Fund, the World Trade Organisation, the World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and the International Labour Organisation.
