BP CEO: company "absolutely responsible" for cleanup

WASHINGTON | Mon May 3, 2010 7:26am EDT

WASHINGTON May 3 (Reuters) - The chief executive of BP Plc (BP.L) said on Monday the company was "absolutely responsible" for cleanup of the oil spill caused by a ruptured offshore well in the Gulf of Mexico.

In an interview with NBC's "Today Show", BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward also said the company was preparing for a "worst case scenario" that it would need to contain the spill for two to three months.

I’m glad BP is taking responsibility for their end of the problem. Now, let’s have Scretary Napoltiano take responsibility for her once again amateurish job performance. Please, Mr. President, we need a professional in her job. Nine days is too long to notice there is a major disaster with the oil spill. Fifteen months is too long to notice there is a disaster at Homeland Security.

Dispersants add to the Gulf, and CAN’T be good. Booms are toys that wind and wave readily overcome. Capping is timeconsuming and a gamble.
WHERE IS THE EFFORT TO REMOVE/RECOVER THE OIL??? Where are the tankers, the skimmers? Where is the US Navy tanker fleet, private tankers?? BP wanted this oil. They have it. We ALL have it. LET’S GET IT COLLECTED!!!
