UPDATE 1-Altra Holdings Q1 beats estimates, ups FY view

May 4 (Reuters) - Altra Holdings Inc (AIMC.O), a maker of mechanical power transmission products, posted better-than-expected quarterly results, helped by reduced de-stocking by customers, and raised its 2010 outlook.
The company sees full-year adjusted earnings of 70 cents to 80 cent a share, up from prior estimates of 55 cents to 60 cents a share.
Altra also raised its 2010 revenue view to $470 million to $485 million, from previous estimates of $450 million to $465 million.
Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 71 cents a share, before special items, on revenue of $479.3 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
For the first quarter, net income was $5.7 million, or 22 cents a share, compared with $1.4 million, or 5 cents a share, a year ago.
Excluding items, the company earned 24 cents a share.
Sales rose 3 percent to $127.7 million.
Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 19 cents a share, before special items, on revenue of $124.2 million.
