Greek/German bond spread scales new euro lifetime high

LONDON May 7 (Reuters) - The premium investors demand to buy 10-year Greek government bonds rather than euro zone benchmark German Bunds hit a new euro lifetime high on Friday as contagion fears from Greece's debt crisis refused to abate.
The 10-year Greek/German government bond yield spread GR10YT=TWEBDE10YT=TWEB widened to 1,030 basis points - passing the previous euro lifetime peak, struck on April 28. It was up from around 947 bps at the European settlement close on Thursday.
Earlier, other peripheral euro zone spreads also widened with the Spanish/German bond yield spread marking a euro lifetime wide of 180 bps ES10YT=TWEB. [ID:nLDE6460FK]
