FACTBOX-Suspected NY bomber a married financial analyst

May 7 (Reuters) - U.S. authorities accuse Faisal Shahzad of
driving a car bomb into New York's Times Square on May 1 with
the intention of killing as many people as possible in one of
the busiest places in the country.

Here are some facts about him:

* Shahzad was born in June 1979 to a military family
hailing from Pabbi, northwest of the Pakistani capital
Islamabad. He recently visited Pakistan for about five months,
returning to the United States in February, prosecutors said.

* Shahzad became a naturalized U.S. citizen last year, U.S.
officials said. He first came to the United States in 1998 on a
student visa, local media reported.

* U.S. prosecutors said Shahzad admitted training in
Waziristan in northwest Pakistan, a Taliban and al Qaeda
stronghold.

* Shahzad earned a bachelor's degree in computer science
and engineering, and a master's degree in business
administration in 2005 from the University of Bridgeport in
Connecticut, local media reported.

* According to his CV, he enjoys working on computers,
playing sports and talking to people "from different
backgrounds," local media reported.

* Shahzad worked for about three years as a junior
financial analyst in the Norwalk, Connecticut, office of the
Affinion Group, a marketing and consulting business, the
company said. He left the firm in June 2009. New York Police
Commissioner Ray Kelly said Shahzad also had worked for
cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden.

* JPMorgan Chase's mortgage unit sued Shahzad in September
last year to foreclose on his three-bedroom house in Shelton,
Connecticut, court documents and county records show. He owed
about $200,000 on the home, which he bought in 2004 for
$273,000. Shahzad used his home equity to take out another loan
for $65,000 from Wachovia in February last year.

* Shahzad is married to Huma Mian and the couple have two
children. The couple reportedly married in 2008. His family is
believed to be living in Peshawar, Pakistan, Kelly said.
Connecticut neighbors told local media that the family was
quiet and wore traditional Muslim dress.

* His father, Bahar-ul-Haq, is a retired vice marshal in
the Pakistani Air Force, and his uncle, retired Major General
Tajul Haq, served as the Inspector General of the Frontier
Corps.
