HOUSTON May 16 (Reuters) - BP Plc (BP.L) on Sunday said it has successfully tested a system to siphon oil from a blown-out well a mile (1.6 km) beneath the Gulf of Mexico.

BP successfully inserted a tube into the leaking well and captured oil and gas, according to a statement posted on a website maintained by BP and U.S. government agencies.

The test was temporarily halted when the tube became dislodged but "technicians have fully inspected the system and have re-inserted the tool," the statement said. (Reporting by Chris Baltimore; Editing by Eric Walsh)

The way I see it. BP should be confiscated and dismantled for equipment sale to cover cost of clean up.
They are going to start in Canada’s north doing the same thing.
We do not want you here. Take you poison somewhere else. Like Mars or something that’s already dead.

I have lost all faith in Governments because they place $$$$ over lives.
BP could have stopped this leak in a second if they were not concerned about reclaiming their precious oil.

BP you have destroyed the south coast of USA and probably the east coast too.
Never mind the Latin countries in the Gulf.

BP you are on the hook.. Haliburton you should be dismantled and sold too for clean-up costs right after Dick gets a new room-mate in Fed Penn named Bruno and a good supply of exercise bikes

We must sooner or later become aware that the technology for deepwater drilling does not exist at this time. The engineering has not been done. You have a bunch of construction guys trying to do the “Engineering”, and they don’t know how to do it. They built a 10-ton concrete gizmo, which should have stayed where it was, not being lowered a mile down. They knew it wouldn’t work, it is a kluge. They are “trying” all kinds of clunky stuff, and this is unacceptable. In the meantime, everyone else is calculating the money angle, just as if the “Leak” has stopped. Well, it has not stopped, get that through your head. And it might not stop ever. The gulf is already ruined. And keeps on getting worse. And nobody really cares yet. All I see is that politicians don’t think the “Leak” of one well isn’t enough to stop drilling. Well, it is. And it is not a “Leak”. It is not a “Drip”. It is not a “Spill”. It is a “Gusher”, and is unprecedented. The only one who seems to be able to figure this out is Schwarzenegger, who last week decided to stop all offshore drilling. Everyone keeps comparing this to the Exxon Valdez, but this tim2v “Gulf Gusher” is historical, and will doom the Gulf of Mexico. Get some real engineers on the job.

Good job BP. Thank you for working around the clock to figure out a way to fix the horrible aftermath of this tragic accident. My heart goes out to the families of the deceased oil rig workers and the families affected by the oil that has spilled in the gulf. This is such a tragic accident and the environmental impact will be felt for decades. Sitting around blaming isn’t going to fix anything.

And seriously, the whole “blame Halliburton” angle is so overplayed. Grow up.
