May 18 (Reuters) - Coal producer Alliance Resource Partners LP (ARLP.O) said it had temporarily idled its Pattiki mine in Illinois due to a vertical conveyer belt system failure, but added it expects no material impact from the idling.

Production operations were halted on May 13 and there were no injuries associated with the failure, the company said, adding that it will make up for the production loss by expanding production in other mines in the area.

The Pattiki mine, which has a capacity of 2.2 million tons, according to Reuters Data, produced 220,000 tons per month on average in the first quarter.

Shares of the company closed at $43.66 Monday on Nasdaq.
