Louisiana blasts BP, U.S. govt for slow oil response
VENICE, La |
VENICE, La May 23 (Reuters) - Louisiana's governor on Sunday criticized energy giant BP (BP.L) and U.S. federal authorities for failing to act fast enough to protect the state's coastlines from a massive Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
The U.S. Coast Guard and BP failed to take decisions quickly enough and delayed supplying necessary clean-up equipment even as oil washed up onto the state's fragile marshland, said Governor Bobby Jindal, who said he was "frustrated" by the slow pace of the response. Sounds sort of like the too big to fail banks, said banks also being gigantic international corporations, and the Obama administration working to transfer Trillions of dollars in debts from the banks to the average U.S. citizen.
Wonder if BP executives and Obama employees are going to receive billions in salary and bonuses as well – anyone want to take bets ???
