NICOSIA May 26 (Reuters) - The United Nations said on Wednesday it believed a peace deal on ethnically-split Cyprus was within reach, and could be brokered in coming months.

"The international community is committed to continuing its support for this Cypriot-led process. I trully believe that you can reach an agreement in the coming months," U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said in a statement read out to rival Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders who resumed peace talks on Wednesday.
