Obama says "buck stops with me" over oil spill

GRAND ISLE, Louisiana | Fri May 28, 2010 4:18pm EDT

GRAND ISLE, Louisiana (Reuters) - President Barack Obama warned on Friday that cleaning up the Gulf oil spill was an enormous challenge and acknowledged that while BP was to blame for the mess, "the buck stops with me."

"I ultimately take responsibility for solving this crisis," Obama said during a visit to Louisiana to inspect oil spill damage. "I am the president and the buck stops with me.

Public opinion has dimmed over Obama's handling of the crisis and his Gulf inspection interrupted a family vacation to check up on progress, including a stop at a local beach to witness oil tar balls washed up from the sea.

Defending his response, Obama said the government had begun gathering vessels and equipment to deal with the cleanup from the first days of the accident. He also stressed there were no simple solutions to the spill.

"There are going to be a lot of judgment calls involved here. There are not going be silver bullets or a lot of perfect answers for some of the challenges that we face."

BP earlier reported progress in its efforts to close off the gushing Gulf of Mexico well. But Obama emphasized that success was not guaranteed.

"Right now we are still within the window when we don't yet know the outcome of the highly complex 'top kill' procedure," he said after being briefed on progress to plug the well.

"Even if the leak was stopped today, it wouldn't change the fact that these waters still contain oil from what is now the largest spill in American history, and more of it will come ashore," he cautioned.

Progressive traitor communist scum caused this. They want rigs OUT OF SIGHT, so deepwater rigs happen.

Even is the USA doesn’t drill, everyone else will . Every last drop of economically obtainable oil WILL BE BURNED. Chine will do it. India will do it. They will kick the Sierra Club losers in the balls and take the oil.

To do anything significant, you must spend and help and allow and promote NUCLEAR POWER and FUSION RESEARCH, but the progressives have urinated and stymied Nuclear Power since the 1970s, and look what it got us? Mercury from coal and oil being burned for all energy, along with coal and natural gas. Nuclear is 10000x cleaner. But the stupid progressives stopped it.

Progressives cause all of the problems, just go a little long term, you see the lefties were racists, the lefties were Tammany Hall and Boss Tweed, the lefties have terrorized America for hundreds of years.

But you see I’ve been asking for nuclear power from TARP and STIMULUS money, but all we have done with it is NOTHING. Just funding ACORN or whatever it was renamed to into local chapters.

This presidency is a complete and total anti-American failure regime Cloward Pivening America to death.

Otraitor’s regime. The oligarchical collectivists wet dream.
