Taiwan's Compal raises 2010 notebook PC shipment target

TAIPEI, June 1 (Reuters) - Compal (2324.TW), the world's No.2 contract laptop maker, said on Tuesday it has lifted its 2010 laptop PC shipment target to 48-50 million units this year from 48 million forecast previously thanks to stronger demand.

Earlier on Tuesday, bigger rival Quanta (2382.TW) said it is maintaining its second-quarter shipment target at 15-20 percent over the first quarter. [ID:nTPV001596] (Reporting by Kelvin Soh)
