DIVX INC DIVX.O, $9.25, up 33 pct

SONIC SOLUTIONS SNIC.O, $11.00, down 7 pct Sonic Solutions SNIC.O agreed to acquire video compression software maker DivX for about $323 million in cash and stock to boost its Internet-based video delivery products. [ID:nSGE6510FM]

AVI BIOPHARMA INC (AVII.O), $1.80, up 29 pct

The biotechnology company said its experimental drug to treat a genetic muscle-wasting disease showed positive results in a clinical study. [ID:nSGE6510FV]

CANADIAN SOLAR (CSIQ.O), $9.70, down 18 pct

At least two brokerages slashed their price targets on the Chinese solar-cell maker, a day after it received a subpoena from U.S. regulators seeking documents relating to some sales in 2009. [ID:nSGE6510EI]

SYNERGETICS USA INC (SURG.O), $2.98, up 10 pct

AMERICAN CAPITAL LTD (ACAS.O), $5.25, up 2.5 pct

ALEXION PHARMACEUTICALS INC (ALXN.O), $48.84

The company said it plans to launch its genetic-disorder drug in Japan in the third quarter, about three months earlier than expected, and raised its full-year outlook. [ID:nSGE6510F0]

SHOE CARNIVAL INC (SCVL.O), $25.08

DIGITAL REALTY TRUST INC (DLR.N), $56.32
