CITIGROUP (C.N)

The financial services company appointed Rajiv Nayar as head of Capital Markets Origination for India, leading the team that helps originate and execute debt and equity transactions for clients in India.

Nayar will report to Ken Poon, head of Asia Pacific Capital Market Origination and Ravi Kapoor, head of Global Banking India.

BARCLAYS (BARC.L)

The investment bank has hired a trio of senior investment bankers from Citigroup (C.N) in London. BarCap has hired technology, media and telecommunications banker Matthew Smith, private-equity specialist Ken McGrath and regional banking co-chief operating officer Richard Blackburn. [ID:nLDE6520PL]

Barclays Wealth has appointed Steve Houston as head of its Wealth Management Americas business. Houston will replace Jack Petersen, who is returning to an advisory role as an investment representative in the company's New York office. [ID:nN03182760]

ROTHSCHILD

Rothschild said it hired Jim Lawrence as chief executive officer of Rothschild North America, its U.S. and Canadian financial advisory and asset management businesses. He has also been named co-head of global investment banking, alongside Nigel Higgins and Olivier Pecoux.

Lawrence joins Rothschild from Unilever where he most recently held the position of executive director and chief financial officer. He was previously vice chairman at General Mills.

NOMURA HOLDINGS (8604.T)

The Japanese investment bank has hired Indraneil Borkakoty from India's Kotak Mahindra Capital to head its equity capital market business in India. [ID:nSGE6520G5]

MOELIS & CO

Investment bank Moelis & Co said Anton Sahazizian will join the firm in August as a managing director, principally working with clients in the industrials sector. Sahazizian was most recently a Managing Director in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at UBS.

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND (RBS.L)

The British bank has appointed Stanley Ho as head of Equity Capital Markets Asia and Simon Qu as co-head of ECM.

It also appointed Patrick Ngan as head of Syndicate and Blocks for Asia.

DELOITTE UK

Vince Niblett, UK head of audit at Deloitte [DLTE.UL], the business advisory firm, has been appointed as global leader of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu's Audit and Enterprise Risk Services practice.

HARRIS WILLIAMS

Middle market investment bank Harris Williams & Co. hired Jon Nemo as a managing director to lead its Aerospace, Defense & Government Services Group. Nemo joins the firm from Jefferies & Co. (JEF.N)

CATTLES CTT.L

The consumer lender said that James Drummond Smith will resign as a director and finance director after its annual general meeting to be held on June 29, 2010.

Cattles intends to appoint Paul Felton-Smith, who will join on June 7, as finance director after the AGM.

TWOFOUR

The New York-based forex and treasury cash management solutions firm appointed Chris Steenbock and Chris Zaremba as sales managers for the Americas and EMEA respectively. (Compiled by Krishna N. Das in Bangalore)
