BP says "a few days" for cap to hit peak efficiency

HOUSTON, June 4 (Reuters) - It will take "a few days" for BP Plc.'s containment dome to reach "peak efficiency" in collecting oil from its stricken Gulf of Mexico well, a company executive said on Friday.

"It will take us a few days to ... get up to peak efficiency," BP Senior Vice President Kent Wells told reporters on a telephone briefing. Wells declined to confirm a figure quoted earlier by a BP executive that the cap could ultimately collect 90 percent of the oil. (Reporting by Chris Baltimore; Editing by Doina Chiacu)
