BP: will donate oil proceeds to wildlife rehab

HOUSTON, June 8 (Reuters) - BP Plc (BP.L) (BP.N) on Tuesday said it will donate net revenues from oil recovered from its stricken Gulf of Mexico oil well to restore wildlife habitats in the Gulf Coast.

"BP is committed to protecting the ecosystems and wildlife on the Gulf Coast," BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward said in a statement. "Proceeds from the sale of oil recovered from the MC252 well will be used to further this commitment." (Reporting by Kristen Hays, editing by Jackie Frank)
