Chavez ends electricity rationing in Venezuela

CARACAS, June 10 | Thu Jun 10, 2010 2:58pm EDT

CARACAS, June 10 (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Thursday his government was ending national electricity rationing that started in January and had hindered the country's efforts to climb out of recession.

Electricity rationing had been imposed on most parts of the Latin American OPEC nation, cutting growth and denting Chavez's popularity ahead of legislative elections in September. (Reporting by Frank Jack Daniel)
