NEW YORK | Tue Jun 15, 2010 2:23pm EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The woman who earned widespread attention last year for sneaking into a White House state dinner without an invitation will appear in the newest version of the "Real Housewives" TV series set in Washington D.C, U.S. cable channel Bravo said on Tuesday.

Michaele and her husband Tareq Salahi prompted a review of security procedures when they gate-crashed a dinner held for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in November. They had a camera crew following them earlier that day and had been auditioning for a part in the popular reality TV franchise.

"The Real Housewives of D.C" will focus on five "housewives" including Michaele Salahi. Her participation on the show had been widely reported back in March, but Tuesday's announcement by Bravo was the network's first confirmation.

Others on the program will include the granddaughter of US 1950s TV personality Arthur Godfrey, a British interior designer and a modeling agency owner. The show will premiere on Bravo on August 5.

The series has gained fans following the lives of wealthy society women including in New York and Orange County, California.

Why do we keep rewarding people who do stupid and criminal things. I guess because the media knows the over abundance of stupid people we have in this country will watch them on TV.

Well, it can’t be worse than the “housewives” of Atlanta. NOTHING could be tug up from a trash can that could be as ghetto as that version of the series.
