MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia on Thursday said that additional sanctions the United States and European Union are imposing on Iran on top of measures approved by the U.N. Security Council last week were "unacceptable."

"For us, attempts to place oneself above the Security Council in this way are unacceptable," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. It said the additional sanctions would undermine efforts to cooperate on resolving tension over Iran's nuclear program.
