TORONTO, June 18 (Reuters) - Canadian uranium miner Denison Mines Corp (DML.TO) said a U.S. court has denied a motion for a preliminary injunction that would have halted operations at its Arizona 1 mine.

The motion filed by the Center for Biological Diversity along with other groups was denied by the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, said Denison in a statement issued late on Thursday.

The plaintiffs had argued that Denison's existing mine plan was invalid and that regulators would need to review a new mine plan for operations at Arizona 1 to continue.

The Arizona 1 mine, which went into production in December 2009, is an underground uranium mine located in northern Arizona.

Denison, a mid-sized uranium producer, operates assets in the Athabasca Basin region of Saskatchewan, Canada, along with assets in the U.S. states of Colorado, Utah, and Arizona. (Reporting by Euan Rocha, editing by Dave Zimmerman)
