"Alice" actor Matt Lucas joining Wiig's "Bridesmaids"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Matt Lucas, the British actor who played Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," is joining the cast of the Kristen Wiig comedy "Bridesmaids."

Wiig, who co-wrote the screenplay, stars in the Universal project as a maid of honor trying to please the snobby, rich bridesmaids at every pre-wedding event before her best friend's nuptials. Rose Byrne and Maya Rudolph also star.

Also dressing up for the occasion are Ellie Kemper ("The Office"), Jill Clayburgh ("Dirty Sexy Money"), Chris O'Dowd ("Dinner for Schmucks"), Melissa McCarthy ("The Back-up Plan") and Wendi McLendon-Covey ("Reno 911!"). Paul Feig directs.
