"Tron: Legacy" goes to Comic-Con, again
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Disney is bringing its "Tron" remake to Comic-Con for the third consecutive year.
Cast members of "Tron: Legacy," including Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen and Bruce Boxleitner, will attend a panel discussion on July 22.
Comedian Patton Oswalt will moderate the event, with Disney promising to give exclusive glimpses of the film, "along with special surprise guests."
Disney said overwhelming response to test footage at the 2008 Comic-Con secured the film its greenlight. The "Tron" panel was one of that year's highlights, and Disney returned in 2009 with a scavenger hunt and a peek at the film's lightcycles.
"Tron" will have a booth on the convention floor and show off the myriad of "Tron" merchandise -- toys, electronics, collectibles, apparel, accessories, publishing and the video game -- that will launch this fall, ahead of the movie's December 17 release.
And yes, there will be Comic-Con exclusives for sale. Comic-Con runs in San Diego from July 22 to July 25.
