Daimler sees truck EBIT at upper end of goal-paper

FRANKFURT, June 23 (Reuters) - Daimler (DAIGn.DE), the world's biggest truck maker, sees the full-year earnings prospects for its trucks unit as slightly more positive, Chief Financial Officer Bodo Uebber said in a newspaper interview.
"After looking at the order inflow, we can say today that earnings before interest and taxes will be at the upper end of the announced range of 2.5 to 3 billion euros for the Mercedes Car Group and (at the upper end of the range) of 500 to 700 million euros for the trucks group," Uebber said.
On May 28, Daimler said its passenger car division would reach the upper end of its forecast this year. [ID:LDE64Q25X]
Uebber was interviewed by regional daily Stuttgarter Zeitung, which released parts of his remarks ahead of publication on Thursday. A company spokesman confirmed the remarks.
Uebber also said Daimler was in talks about producing cars of partner Nissan's (7201.T) luxury brand Infiniti on the basis of Mercedes' A- and B-Class models at the new Daimler site in Hungary.
"There are talks with Nissan in this area as well as discussions about engines," Uebber told the paper.
In April, Renault (RENA.PA), Nissan and Daimler said they would swap stakes and jointly develop cars in a tie-up to gain scale and share costs. [ID:nLDE6361D5]
