BOJ's Shirakawa to attend EMEAP in Sydney

TOKYO, July 16 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa will leave for Australia on July 20 to attend the Executives' Meeting of East Asia Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP) in Sydney, the BOJ said on Friday.

The heads of 11 central banks in the East Asia-Pacific region, including those of Australia, China and Thailand, are scheduled to exchange ideas on recent economic and financial developments in the region.

EMEAP Governors have met on an annual basis since it was established in 1996. (Reporting by Rie Ishiguro)
