LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - At MTV, The Situation is under control.

Sources say the cable network has locked up The Situation and Pauly D to continue on "Jersey Shore" for a third season. Deals for the rest of the cast are either done, or very close to it.

Either way, with the heavy hitters signing, nobody is expected to hold out and production is expected to resume within the next few days.

The cast initially asked the network for $30,000 each per episode -- a 200% raise. MTV countered with a number that's close to that figure.

Not every member of the cast will receive the exact same number, however. As reported on TMZ, The Situation was also offered a hefty bonus should "Jersey" meet certain ratings targets.

The "Jersey" cast shot the first season for $5,000 per episode, and then haggled a salary bump to $10,000 for the second season, which premieres July 29.

They deserve a raise because they are making MTV rich. Yeah, they’re retarded and they’re making us dumb too, but there’s no reason they should be exploited by some greedy corporation.

It irks many of us that spoiled rich kids get rewarded with big money for having no manners, no education, and no ambitions. The actors on this show have no inhibitions either. My husband and I are a “guido” and a “guidette”; however, we came of age when that was a racial slur and our families insisted we get an education and work hard to get ahead. I know our parents would be mortified to see one of their twenty-something grandchildren behaving so lewdly in front of millions of people. Mammamia!
