* Gets approval for breast reconstruction

* Also approved for soft-tissue repair, healing wounds

* Shares up 6 pct pre-market

July 27 (Reuters) - Cytori Therapeutics (CYTX.O) said it received European approval for the use of its stem-cell device in breast reconstruction, repair of soft tissue and in healing certain types of wounds, sending its shares up 6 percent.

The company's Celution system extracts and separates stem and regenerative cells from a patient's own fat tissue to form a fat graft, which is used to reconstruct the affected breast or other soft tissue defects.

"This broadens Cytori's ability to offer the Celution system to patients and hospitals and further supports the company's efforts to gain treatment reimbursement," the company said in a statement.

Shares of the company were up 26 cents at $4.93 in pre-market trade. They closed at $4.67 Monday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Anand Basu in Bangalore; Editing by Vinu Pilakkott)
