US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Nvidia weighs on Nasdaq

NEW YORK, July 29 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell on Thursday, with the Nasdaq trading down more than 1 percent, after Nvidia Corp (NVDA.O) slashed its second-quarter sales outlook, citing weakness in Europe and China.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI dropped 59.33 points, or 0.57 percent, to 10,438.55. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX dropped 8.56 points, or 0.77 percent, to 1,097.57. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC dropped 25.47 points, or 1.12 percent, to 2,239.09.
