Seoul shares open up; U.S. data lifts tech shares

SEOUL Aug 5 (Reuters) - Seoul shares opened a tad higher on Thursday as solid U.S. private jobs data lifted shares of major exporters such as Hynix Semiconductor (000660.KS) and Samsung Electronics Co (005930.KS).

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index .KS11 (KOSPI) rose 0.4 percent to 1,796.48 points as of 0004 GMT.
