UPDATE 1-Tutor Perini Q2 results beat Wall Street view

Aug 5 (Reuters) - Construction company Tutor Perini Corp (TPC.N) posted better-than-expected quarterly results, helped by higher revenue from its civil segment.

For the second quarter, net income was $32.7 million, or 66 cents a share, compared with $38.9 million, or 79 cents a share a year ago.

Revenue fell 34 percent to $914.4 million. But civil segment revenue more than doubled to $197.4 million.

Analysts on average had expected earnings of 49 cents a share, before special items, on revenue of $877.4 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Shares of the company closed at $19.01 Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Divya Sharma in Bangalore; Editing by Maju Samuel)
