Brazil's CSN posts 2nd-qtr profit of 894 mln reais

SAO PAULO Aug 10 (Reuters) - CSN (CSNA3.SA) (SID.N), Brazil's largest diversified steel group, said on Tuesday its net income was 894 million reais ($509 million) in the second quarter, compared with earnings of 335 million reais a year earlier.

Profit at the Sao Paulo-based company was expected to be 824 million reais, according to an average estimate of five analysts polled by Reuters. ($1=1.758 reais) (Reporting by Guillermo Parra-Bernal)
